RWSS – Kuchinda & Bamra (Sambalpur District)
-
Objective
The objective of the RWSS – Kuchinda & Bamra project was to supply 184 MT of HDPE pipes to support a water supply initiative in the Kuchinda and Bamra regions of Sambalpur District, Odisha. The primary challenge was the transportation of 200-metre long coil pipes with a 90 mm OD, which posed significant logistical hurdles due to their oversized dimensions.

Challenges
- Transporting Oversized Coil Pipes: The major challenge in this project was the transportation of coil pipes that were 200 metres long and had a diameter of 90 mm OD. These oversized pipes could not be accommodated in standard shipping containers, which required a unique solution to ensure their safe and timely delivery to the project site.
- Logistical Constraints: Standard transportation methods were insufficient to handle such large coils, and any delays or mismanagement in logistics could have jeopardised the entire project timeline, which had to be strictly adhered to.

Conclution
The successful delivery of the HDPE pipes to Kuchinda and Bamra, despite the significant logistical challenges, underscores our ability to manage and execute complex projects effectively. By utilising a customised container solution, we were able to address the unique transportation challenges posed by the oversized coil pipes. This success not only ensured that the water supply project was completed on time but also demonstrated our capacity for innovative problem-solving in the face of logistical constraints. The project’s completion helped bring a reliable water supply to the Kuchinda and Bamra regions, contributing to the overall success of the water infrastructure initiative.
